Phase II

Each mentor will do a practical that involves meeting with a Teen (treating them as a mentee) to develop a plan of activities with the active mentor for a full year. The mentor will have a template to follow. When the plan is completed it will be submitted to the team for review. The team will review the plan and approve the plan or make modifications to improve the plan. Once all plans have been approved Phase III will begin. Each mentor will receive a certificate verifying that they made a one year plan activity that has been approved by the mentoring team.

Phase III

All the mentors will take a series of evaluations to develop a profile. Now the mentees are brought in separately for an orientation. The next step is for all mentees be assisted through test to develop a profile on them. These profiles from the mentors and mentees are brought together to find a match (as close as possible). Once the match up is complete all the mentors and mentees are brought together for a meet and greet with each other in a social setting (luncheon or some other type). The mentor and mentee are paired to become acquainted with each other. They will get together to go over the activity plans which is approved by the mentee.

Phase IV

The agreement that will be made during the mentorship activity will be for one year. Mentors will go over all the rules of engagement and the mentee will sign an approval form. The mentee is now ready to start the mentoring program.

Phase V

The mentor must make contact with his mentee once a week. Both mentors and mentees will meet once a month together. This is all the mentors and mentees to see what everyone is doing and a chance to vocalize concerns positive activities and any other issues to be discussed. The mentors are to turn in a progress report at the end of every month.(example-the mentee went to work, the mentee stayed on the job, mentee attained his G.E.D., mentee went curriculum training, and other levels that are indicated on the report form.) To ensure positive outcomes and the proper attitude from the mentees, the mentees will participate in Phase VI.

Phase VI

Each mentee will be required to attend a two hour class once a week for six or more months. This class will cover various topics to strengthen and enhance the mentee. Examples of some of the subjects that will be taught are: Values, Self-Esteem, Attitude, Thoughts, Confidence, Friendship, Anger Management, Happiness, Relaxation, Purpose, Responsibility, Future, Problems, Love, Faith and etc. After a year of successfully mentoring the mentee, the mentor will receive a certification that recognizes the proven professional activities that led to positive outcomes with his mentee.

There will be a banquet that both the mentees and mentors will attend that will recognize and reward both the mentor and mentee with their success and completion of the program.
