About

The Fathers Strengthening Families program has been running for over 12 years in the Triad and is under the umbrella of services via Citizens Completion of Restoring Ex-Offenders (C-Core), and has worked with over 300 men and families and therefore has shown many successes.

FSF has collaborated with many organizations such as: Guilford County Schools, Greensboro Hope Project, Nurse Family Partnership (GCD) first time mom program, Triad Baby Love Plus, YWCA Mentoring Mom as well to Employment Training Services-Chessmen, DSS, and Family Life Council because so many of the young Fathers and Dads-to-be, seem to be comfortable working the staff of the program.

FSF really encourages co-parenting and works through the importance of their role as the father to “be there” for their child or children.

FSF works on a weekly cycle, where they do a home/work visit, a telephone contact, Co-parenting session and Dads only support group to keep lines of communication unobstructed among families. FSF also tries to get the Dads to understand the importance of furthering their education and where possible, gets them back into education programs. If there are any criminal situations, they gets involved and makes sure that the Dad is understanding of their offenses, and assist anyway possible. Fathers Strengthening Families also assists with job referrals for the Dads.

Fathers Strengthening Families works within the community to get referrals. They approach teachers, coaches, school social workers, school resources officers, and etc to let them know about his program and get many referrals through them.
