MENTORING CLASS ACTIVITIES
This mentoring program is designed to provide support, coaching, partnering, advising, and advocating. The material which will be covered during the classroom activities of the mentoring process will include:

VALUES relating values to goals and self determination and decisions we make.

SELF ESTEEM a detail inventory of who you are our limitations and levels of self respect.

ATTITUDE help focus on what we are trying to accomplish and what couldn’t be done.

THOUGHTS (You are what you think)

CONFIDENCE overcoming obstacles and barriers which we place before ourselves.
-
FRIENDSHIP (Trust) defining several definitions of friends and friendships and how they relate to trust.
-
ANGER MANAGEMENT learning to control our thoughts and not to respond to what we hear.
-
HAPPINESS describing and relating to happiness is and become.
-
RELAXATION a method that is being taught how to handle stress in one’s life.
-
PURPOSE braking down the understanding of the mentees purpose and mentors purpose.
As it relates to the goals and objectives and the lives of individuals:

RESPONSIBILITY understanding the commitments we make in life and the responsibilities that come with it.
-
FUTURE understanding how goals and our dreams has its sets the path for our future.
-
PROBLEMS understanding what problems are and the steps to resolve them.
-
LOVE involves a very intensive discussion on the different types of love and their purposes in our everyday lives.
-
FAITH discussion on how faith pays a very important pathway in becoming successful.
-
HEALTH detailed discussion on how to maintain our health and the impact that it has on us for future commitments.
-
MEDITATION the mentees will practice several forms of meditation that is needed to prolong life.

FEAR learning what fear is, and uncover the masks that fear is behind and overcome those obstacles. Those obstacles that prevent us from becoming successful.

JOB SEARCH intensive activity and in structural behavior that develops a plan to get employed.

INTERVIEW teaching mentors to be able to master the interviewing concepts.
-
NEGOTIATING reviewing with mentors the art of negotiating under various situations.
-
PORTFOLIO teaching mentees how to develop a great portfolio and how they need to be maintained.
-
DEVELOP CREDITABILITY in depth discussion will be provided on charting the process of developing creditability.

TEAM BUILDING understanding the significance of working with a team and having the team to support your goals and activities.
-
FINANCE discussions on realistic methods of developing budgets, tracking expenses, and controlling personal money flow.
-
GOAL SETTING many discussions will be developed on how to set goals, goals development and achievable outcomes.
-
RELATIONSHIPS developing a deep understanding on relationships with a man and a woman a mentor and mentee a friends, coworkers, and other intenties.
-
PARENTING discussions around this subject will include those men who are fathers, those men who have fathers, and parenting other individual’s children.

COMMUNICATION understanding the real definition and the structure regarding communication with significant other, other women, and friends.
-
DISSCUSSION on the Art of listening and evaluating conversation.
-
EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (outside the box) understanding the various means of receiving education through un conventional means.

BONDING WITH YOUR CHILD understanding the various techniques that can be applied to bond with your children.

DEVELOPING PEER GROUPS FOR YOUR CHILD learning how to use this concept to control your child’s behavior and the friends he or she chooses.

DEVELOPING ADULT PEER GROUPS these developmental peer groups are designed to create behavioral changes and positive attitudes as it relates to your goals.

LOOKING AT BEHAVIOR (drug, gang, and sex) this component will be open for discussion and observations too be able to recognize gang signs and behaviors.
How too effectively to deal with drug issues and deal with mentees that might be dabbling in drugs. Frank discussions sexual situations and confrontations:

FORGIVENESS learning how to forgive and the health issues that may arise on harboring issues that’s been hurtful to mentees.

OVERCOMING BARRIERS learning how recognize barriers in the mentees life and structural concepts to overcome barriers in one’s life.

KEEPING UP WITH THE REAL WORLD (through available media) things that happen outside of our world does affect how outcome of decisions we make.

DEVELOPING YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESSS PLAN mapping the progress and their accomplishments and various stages in the mentees life that can be reviewed through discussions with the mentee.
*All mentors will have 40-50 hours of training before being assigned to a mentee. All mentees will attend a joint meeting with their mentors once a month
